Most days Pat left the campground at 7am with the group. During our stay in Alamos, the birders travelled some 80 car miles driving further into the hills on mostly good and well-used dirt roads.

Each such trip was led by Terry Sisson, an expert birder who has been watching them since he was a kid. Terry and his wife Pat were the "wagon masters" for our trip. They led the RV caravan along the roads, got us organized, planned the birding and social activities, and helped troubleshoot mechanical problems.
