We followed one of the hatchlings as it worked its way across the sand and towards the edge of the water. Pure instinct leads these hours-old infants into the ocean, relying on the energy acquired inside the egg to scrabble across the sand and through the surf.

How do they make it through the surf without drowning? Will this one survive to adulthood? What do they eat? How far do they wander? Do they come back to this same beach to breed? How little do we know.
