From French Vale we drove briefly to, and around, New Waterford on the north coast of Cape Breton looking for more family gravestones. From there we went to to the Cape Breton Miner's Museum in Glace Bay. Highly informative.

Bill's mother grew up in nearby Dominion. Her father started work in the Dominion #1 mine when he was 13, working in the same coal mine for 54 years, and having the same partner for 30 of these years.
