Bald Eagles
It takes 5 years for Bald Eagles to acquire adult plumage and they often hang around in family groups. We think these two juveniles were probably born a year apart.
Eagles can live to be 40, mate for life, and are primarily fish hunters - although we've seen them hanging around the Juneau dump with crows and seagulls. We've also seen them chase Ospreys to try to steal their catch.
