Tri-colored Heron  in non-breeding plumage.

This slender graceful bird was on the edge of the Arroyo Colorado (aka Harlingen Ship Canal) in South Texas. Formerly the Louisiana Heron, it is much smaller than the Great Blue, but not as petite as the Little Blue and like all of them, a good fisherman.
